Gene, since I bought my plant from another gardener in this area (via the
plant sale) others must be growing them here too. And now that you mention
it, my friend Char Menzel, anexperienced gardener here, told me she thought
it was a Japanese Anemone...so that makes at least 3 people that know they
can grow here now?? It seems to me she also said we can grow some plants
that cannot be grown further south in Iowa, because we have better snow cover
here, and that those people up in the "arrowhead" of Minnesota (the point of
our state that is north of Lake Superior and northeast of Duluth) can grow
things that we can't here, because they get even more snow than we do.
