Bon Jour Cajun Joe :) - I have a bad feeling of confusing you now regarding
the other answers you've got - but I have an old Buddleia davidii in a
southeast corner of the house - whit other plants on the south side so I
would say thid butterfly bush get a lot of shade. And it blooms every year.
But I don't cut down so much the branches I leave each spring - just prune
away some in the middle ... and let it be about 3-4 meters high.
Another thing in this comparing that might be important ... I probably have
a longer daylengt during summertime than you and don't know if that help me
... maybe someone else know so? - but I live about doubble so far north as
you Joe and have very different climate!
