This is what I answered on another list but I sure am not a specialist.
Hi Virginia
I used to start a couple of hundred of these at a time and plant
them
together in a flowerbed. They were the normal aquilegia hybrids and I
don't know anything about the ones you have. I just sowed the seed on
the top of the starting mix and bottom watered them and transplanted
them when they were about an inch tall into cell packs. I don't remember
them as taking that long to germinate but do remember if they ever dry
out they die
rapidly.
