Re: 'David Ward' was: pulmonarias


Susan....mine is doing OK, I think.  Found the leaves brown easily if
it gets too dry and have read posts that this one really requires a
continually moist soil - not soggy; still needs good drainage - but
won't tolerate any drying off...think this is so as I have noticed
that when I only give mine the same water that the rest of the border
has, I get brown leaf edges.  If we have lots of rain or I am a good
girl and give this plant extra, then it is much happier.  Mine is
growing in rotted woodchips.  Do not notice it expanding with speed,
but, so far (knock on wood) it returns, blooms and seems relatively
happy.

In ans. to your question, I think, yes...it is considered a tad
harder to grow successfully.
