My parents have a corn plant and every other year it will bloom in side
during the winter-every year they go on a vacation and with my strong dislike
for corn plants, I threaten to burn it up in the fireplace.

Its about ten years old and the only reason I have not got rid of it is that
in the winter it's just to much work to put it in the fire place and by the
time spring comes I am too busy to be concerned about it.
