Re: Shadegarden Question?

There are a number of Dracaenas used as houseplants. All are trouble free
and could be made out of plastic for all the life they exhibit. I do find
Dracaena marginata, AKA Madagascar Dragon Plant, a bit of a challenge
because cats so love to eat the pointed leaves and then it looks lousy
until the leaves grow back. The corn plant is one I have grown in the
past until it grew too large for the hous.

Another popular Dracaena is the so-called "Lucky Bamboo" with or without
curly stems that has been sold for rather high prices in recent years. Of
course, it is not a bamboo at all. I have had mine for several years, and
aside from changing the water in its vase every few weeks I do nothing. It
thrives in terrible light and I keep hoping it will help me win the
lottery. I would never throw it out because someday it might make me a
wealthy woman! True, it is not much of a challenge to grow.
