Perhaps the hot summer is the problem. The Seattle area has summer
drought but has only a few days in the 90's. (Except this year with
El Nino??)
My soil is pretty rich and the area open but with no direct sun. No
extra water usually. I have a few nice patches of Soldanella
montana, and just got starts of S. hungarica and S alpina last year.
They're charming miniature imitations!
