Re: [SHADEGARDENS] Fallopia

Polygonum Phobics,

In Ken Druse's "The Collectors Garden" this plant is discussed and pictured in
several places. The garden described belongs to Jim Murrain who is the
partner of James Waddick, plant collector who has collected in Asia. (Waddick
is the author of several scholarly hort books)

Jim Murrain is a member of the iris list and occasionally contributes
knowledgeable info on iris and variegated plants (their specialty). The
location of their garden is Kansas City. He uses polygonum cuspidatum
"Variegatum", described as "the delicate and hard-to-grow version of an
ordinarily noxious weed.

Today, I will e-mail Jim Murrain and ask him if he would like to be on this
list or at least if he will write about this plant group for me to forward.
