This IS a great genus! Besides the familiar P. 'Mrs. Moon Improved' there are
some newer ones on the market. 'British Sterling' David Ward' and
P.longifolia 'Roy Davidson' are my favorites. Attention nuserypersons! Let us
know which ones you offer. I have ordered a large number from Plants Delight
but i am sure there are other good sources.

Another plant that CAN be a ground cover is Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander'.
(May be invasive if you let it seed. If you want a spectactular ground cover
of sorts, L. clethroides.(Very Invasive.)

And if you have another area that you want to be covered but where you don;t
want to grow anything else, try Chasmanthium latifolium(Northern Sea Oats).

Several people have recommended Gallium odoratum( Sweet Woodruff). It is a
very nice one, but I find that the centers die out. What am I doing wrong?
