Gene and all,
I feel like I started this about shipping costs, so I'll stick my neck
out again. For several years, I've swallowed hard and paid the 30% shipping
for 2nd day air from Heronswood. The plants have generally been very nice,
they have lots of plants no one else has, and I love to read Dan Hinkley's
prose.
This doesn't change the fact that to get plants from Roslyn Nursery by 2nd
day air it would cost me 50% of my order. I also think their prices may be
a bit higher to start with. I just can't bring myself to do it. But,
never say never, if they had a plant I just had to have, I'd reconsider.
Or find someone in Illinois to order for me and plan a short road trip....
