We have often found that the shipping charges are higher from nurseries
that we consider exceptional and continue to use over and over. Of course
their plants are usually packed better, often container grown and
shipped, arrive in excellent condition, and above average in health and
size. They usually also go the extra step to make sure they ship the
plants so they never get hung up over holidays or weekends. Many also
acknowledge the order again just before shipment.
We would rather pay more knowing that someone who really cares is
handling the shipping of our plants. If you really care enough about a
plant to order it you want to make sure it arrives when you want it and
in good condition. Nurseries such as Plants Delight, Roslyn, or Niche
Gardens could double the cost of shipping and handling and we would still
use them as " It is Worth it".
