Hi Jennifer:
I don't think you'd be a good candidate for hemlock. They require at least
fair drainage and are unlikely to survive the heat in your area. I have
planted hundreds and have the best results with potted plants - not bareroot.
Musser Forests at 412-465-9893 is a good source for trees in quantity. I'm
sorry I don't have an alternate suggestion for your'tropical' location. :-)
