Hemlocks do well in part shade; I am not sure about how they take to "really"
moist conditions, but most do well in moist soil.
Tsuga canandensis has a number of interesting varieties.
Most are slow growing, so I would recommend investing in some larger
specimens.
You might want to consider staggering the plantings, with taller varieties in
back and pendulous vars. in between and in front. Plus in the middle in front,
T.c. 'Aurea'?
