Re: favorite combinations


A few years ago I bought some Robinhill azaleas "Maria Derby". The red
turned out to be on the orange side and didn't go with anything I had
blooming at the same time, so I separated them from everything pink,
lavendar, etc. and kept trying things to go with them.... last year
finally I found a stunning combination. The new leaves of cimifuga ramosa
are a brilliant lime green and emerge at the same time the azaleas are in
bloom, and set them off wonderfully. Last fall I added gold hostas
"Piedmont Gold" in front of them and expect a similar effect.
