The Amer Hort Soc A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants makes no mention of this
for Cimicifuga dahurica.
(Is there a common shorthand for naming this book??)

Subject: [SG] Cimicifuga/Actaea dioecious?
I was just browsing the Heronswood catalogue online, reading about
the Cimicifugas, now called Actaea after a long study of the genus by
Dr. James Compton. It was actually the slides he showed during a
lecture that got me interested in these plants.
Heronswood's description of Cimicifuga dahurica says male and female
plants have differing forms of inflorescence, and that the plants
available for sale are unsexed seedlings.
I have read several articles on the genus which didn't say anything
about any of them being dioecious, and the Royal Horticultural Index
to the Dictionary (I can't afford the whole Dictionary) also makes no
mention of any member of the genus being dioecious.
Does anyone have information on this?
