Nancy, your report is fascinating. Thanks. As for The American Gardener,
I've subscribed for years and like it very much. It is a bit on the
earnest side, very into native plants which I approve of in theory but it
is like reading EATING WELL as a substitute for BON APPETIT.
I have loved Allen Lacy's books for years. Picked up the most recent, a
collection of articles from his newsletter, and to my surprise could not
read it at all. So I'm sure I wouldn't care for the newsletter. Drab.
Colorless, boring. Maybe he has run out of things to say about
gardening... which would be a shame.
Now, are there any good HERB gardening magazines out there? As I may have
mentioned before, I plan to put in an herb garden at the new house.
