Hi Nancy,
Why don't you like the H. foetidus? What do you like about the H. odorus?
I've been looking at foetidus and niger (both zone 3) in Naylor Creek Nursery's catalog. They say that foetidus has a feathery appearance which I thought would contrast nicely with large hosta leaves. The pure white flowers of niger also sound nice, unless they face downard under the leaves where they can't be seen anyway.....do they?
