I grow from very small liners.  Sometimes only a single frond of an inch
or so.

I was told by my source that it can take two years.  Perhaps they felt
that I might begin growing them and tried to dissuade the possibility.
I did take a tour of the facility and it is *incredibly* lo-tech.  Saran
wrap was used extensively to hold in moisture.
