Hi Sherryl,

Thank you for adding my name to the Shade Gardening listserver.

My name is Sharon Fitzpatrick. Husband Bob and I live in central Ohio 15
miles southeast of Columbus. I have been a plant addict all my life. After
our three children grew up and left home I have turned my nurturing
instincts toward the garden. We have live on this one acre lot for 12
years. Lot came with a stream , two 100 year white ash, maple, black
locust, assorted pines , white willow, river birch and sycamore trees.
and lots of 'pucker' brush. No Flowers!!!! Soil is a wonderful deep black
loam. Now , free flowing perennial borders surround the yard. Viburniums,
Lilac, Witch Hazel and Clethra are the backbone shrubs of the borders. We
also have five water lily ponds and a formal herbless garden. Trees
produced to much shade for herbs to flurish. At this time the herbless
garden is a seedling bed for hosta and daylilies. We are the only American
Hemerocallis in Central Ohio. Over 1000 different daylily cultivars are the
hit of July bloom season. Hosta a shade plants are also favorites of mine.
At this time my latest garden plans are for a moss garden. Any
information on moss gardening would be greatly appreciated.

I have only been a member of this group for a week and already I have
learned what I should plant for dry shade. I must find a Royal Fern. ..
Happy Gardening !! Sharon
