I am also interested in design of databases for recording information
about plants, whether in garden, nursery, or greenhouse. I have been
organizing and assembling databases on Hemerocallis hybrids, and would like
to develop a general horticulturally useful system for all the types of
growing I do.

Hi Jim,
Welcome. I'm pretty new here to and I'm also one of the newer members of the
American Hosta Society round robin. I'd sure like to hear more about the
database design that you are doing. It sounds like you are trying several
databases. What kind of info do you put in each one? What software are you
using? etc, etc, etc. I'd like to find someway of storing my plant info too.
So far I have 6 spreadsheets in Excel to track the plants I have and plants I
want. ex: Hostas, Ferns, Trees Shrubs and Vines, Other Perennials, Bulbs,
Plants I'd Like to Try. I'm always interested in hearing about other
gardeners systems.
