[SHADEGARDENS] Hardy Cyclamen

I am new to growing cyclamen, and I wonder if the folks in this group have
some sage words for getting them to survive in central Indiana -- where the
Arctic meets the Gulf of Mexico, occasionally violently.

Do they need/can they tolerate shade in summer? Will they grow under
deciduous trees like sugar maples and red oaks? Can they handle
competition from shallow tree roots?

I have a few corms of Cyclamen coum and of C. hereifolium ( =
neapolitanum) planted, and am trying to start seeds of C. coum. Can anyone
offer some advice on this undertaking?
