Jennifer, all of the plants you mentioned should be able to come back. I
would wait on any pruning until I was sure the plants had died, not just
had their foliage killed. Wait a week or ten days, then with a fingernail,
lightly scratch suspect stems. If they show bright green underneath,
chances are they are still alive and will resprout.
I would definitely do nothing with the hawthorns and wait for any signs of
resprouting. Did they have foliage before the storm? If not, you have a
good chance of seeing them recover in the spring.
