Hello; on another chat group, it was stated that if you let the Himalayan
blue poppy bloom the first year, it will die. You must pinch off the bud
and wait till the following season to allow blossoming; this prolongs its
life for about five years, more or less. Also, several sources, including
the RHS, state that the poppy will flourish in the PNW but nowhere else in
the US. It is sensitive to temperature extremes.
