Hi,
Another Clematis that does well in shade are the C. alpina. There are many
named cultivars along with the species to select from. Generally these have
pendant bell shaped blooms in early spring. Some of the first to bloom.
They are easy to grow, quite vigorous for me and reach about 8 to 12 feet.
