That's a good point, Bobbi. Hydrangeas are not all the same and require
different pruning for different types, I would guess. My Mariseii variegata
blooms on new growth from buds produced the previous year, so if I pruned
off old growth I would definitely lose bloom.
But I also have 'Greyswood' blooming (only one bloom) and it appears to be
blooming on a new shoot originating at the base.
Would any of our Hydrangea experts out there care to discuss the various
"types" of hydrangea and how they should be pruned?

P.S. Neighbor across the street also has an old mophead with different
colors on the same bush. I agree, it is really a wow and I have no idea how
that happens..
