Re: From the horse's mouth/ Nancy

Hello Nancy,
Thanks for the compliment on the nursery. It is interrupting to see how you
view what I am up to around here. I do not see myself as looking for "new" plants.
Just what I happened to become aware of and find does well here in my mid-west
garden, and what I think you ,as a customer, may be interested in growing in your
garden.
Speaking of nurseries... we began our tours of other nurseries yesterday. Took
a two hour drive to northern Indiana to visit an old farm that had been turned
into herb and old fashioned flowers... lots of displays, many small rooms formed
into outdoor dinning areas.Nice little shop with sandwiches, teas, deserts,
salads. Many shops with antiques and hand-made crafts. Craft classes and music.
They do a very good job. Enjoyable day.
Now is the time to really tell how good a job a nursery does..... season is
beginning to wind down a bit, hard to keep all those plants alive and well in this
heat in those little pots... weeds are beginning to flourish and so on. Plus
everyone is getting tired and wore down from all the past labors of the season.
We purchased two Ginkgo trees, variegated garden phlox, toad house and ceramic
bird house.
