What has amazed me in the last few years is how specific bugs find specific
plants. I had never seen a cabbage looper until last year when I had
ornamental cabbages in a pot; there they were, eating the HECK out my
cabbages!! Now the lovely sweet potato villain, which I also had never seen
(or heard of) before....
Perhaps everyone will want to plant the lovely yellow sweet potato so they
can have a look at this little treasure of a bug! And now I will go out to
exterminate them....
I'm thinking of making the effort of taking one to the extension office's
master gardeners, and now that I have a family name for it, I'm even more
enticed.
