Well, you could pot up the bulbs:-)  I see no reason why your plants
shouldn't make it, if they are in decent shape to start out with.
Just get them in the ground and water them well.  May not hurt to
shade them a bit for a few days, either.

Be sure to give those Japanese iris a really acid mix - peat and
sand.  BTW, I've grown same in a big pot for several years.  I keep
the pot in a saucer with water in it while they are actively growing.
 Also have some in the ground, so you can do it either way you like.
