Since Cajun wanted to know where the hosta gardeners were who recommended
the list of southern-suitable hostas (he was about to get the post-limit
gong), I might as well post them.
As mentioned previously, this was a 3-part series in the Hosta Journal.
However, the entire list I posted was from the first list, and that person
lives in Decatur, Georgia, the absolute SW-most corner of Georgia.
Kemberly, you are slightly more SW than this near Houston. I have not been
to Decatur Georgia, but I've been to Houston, and I know it's the most
astoundingly humid place I've ever been to (hot too!). I got off a small
plane there once and almost fell over backward from the humidity. It looks
to me like Decatur is Zone 8.
The $500 hosta garden is from Tyrone, Georgia, not so far south as Decatur
The $2000 hosta garden is Franklin, TN, which of course is Weenyville
compared zone-wise to the other two.
