From another Hosta grower in Zone 9

I am doing research about Hosta growers in Zone 9, and posting successful
growers on Shadegarden. Cajun

--------------------

I live about 20 miles NE of Phoenix - Zone 9. HOT & DRY!!

OK I'll admit I am experimenting with one lone hasta. I planted 'Patriot'
last September in a bed on a North wall which receives sunlight only in
June - August. Not so good here in the Phoenix area with our extreme temps.
However I rigged up a temporary shade screen to cover the bed and believe it
or not the hosta is doing great. In fact it is actually blooming now! It did
die back last winter and I thought it was a goner, but then late this spring
(March) it started sprouting.

I thought I would be the only one in these parts silly enough to try growing
hostas. Am anxious to see if any others respond.
