I get my mulch from the recycling cener here-- its dumped by utility
companies and other folks who are cutting trees, etc. Also If you
call
the utilitiy co. or tree trimming co, they may very well be willing
to
bring it over to you, free of charge. A disadvantage however, is
that
its full of everything, incl. maybe diseased or termite infested
trees,
poison ivy, etc. I haven't had any problem myself, but wanted to add
this
caveat. You just don't know what you're getting. But hey, its free.
I
mostly use it for my paths.
There's another place around here, however, that double chips its
wood
chips, making it finer and neater.They charge for this, plus I don't
have
access to a truck, so I have to add in transportation charges, which
adds
significantly to the cost.
But it sure is easier to get it hauled to my garden.
