few pests and it is my favorite place while grumbling and occasionally

Claire, you put it all into perspective. I have given up on getting mad at
the rabbits because, they just are. They multiply faster than I can
eliminate them anyway. I know what they like best and keep away from
planting those things. They have not been as numerous as in the past because
I see a large cat hiding under the viburnum in the back. I don't know to
whom it belongs but I am grateful.

If I see it after the birds that I am so fond of though I will probably feel
different.

When we had a cat she was mostly an indoors cat. We would let her take a
trip outside occasionally and when we did she always returned with a mole in
her mouth. She thought that under the dining room table was the place to
present the gift to the family. Cats are good animals to have in the garden,
but I can't put out bird seed and have a cat in good conscience as it is just
providing the cat with a bird buffet.
