I have tried fruit from a plant called n-b cereus. It is sometimes called
"Peruvian Apple"
This fruit tasted a lot like apple but very dry. The seeds started
germinating in the fruit and quickly finished when put on soil. After they
started growing, they were very slow.

p.s.: Do you get any of the posts from Kerry & Eddy Walker? You could
probably get more info. One of them is involved in the Cactus Society in
New Zealand I think.
