Thanks for the info on Astilboides tabularis and Delmera
peltata. I am partial to large leaved plants like these and
others like Angelica.
About Leucothoe, it is native to this area and, in fact,
grows on most stream banks, as does yellow root. It grows
wild behind my house on a 'creek' bank. By the way, it
grows naturally in dappled or full deep shade. It need to
be wet, but not boggy. The Leucothoe 'Rainbow' is a sport
of the native Leucothoe. Here in the south, florists use
Leucothoe in many arrangements for the green effect.
Venus flytrap and pitcher plants are also native to this
area and I have them growing in a bog area garden which is
an overflow for my small pond.
