Hello; a couple of years ago, I purchased a plant labeled "Silene variegata"
at a local nursery. This was a beautiful plant, with creamy white blossoms
and green/gold variegated leaves. The flower was in the typical bladderwort
form, but shorter and wider, and the overall habit was a small mound. It
was marked as a perennial, but behaved as an ethereal-type annual...but, as
I have found no information anywhere about the plant, I don't know if it
behaved in my garden as it would have under ideal conditions. I wanted to
buy more this year, but cannot find a source. Does anyone have a source
and/or cultural information?
