Narda,
So do you think it is so widespread that it will eventually get into all our
hostas? I guess I was thinking that if I got it early and eliminated plants
that eventually I would be able to get rid of it. It seems to be working for
me with crown rot. I used to have a lot of trouble with it and so started
pitching plants that showed symptoms. I hardly have any that are afflicted by
this now, and continue to pitch if I see damage. Boy, it's a battleground out
there! Gardening is not for the weak. In my garden the rabbit population
exploded this year, as well as oak seedlings, slugs and chipmunks. Rabbits show no
respect, if I could catch one...(%$#@)
I am curious, also about the cultivars that don't show any symptoms. When
Van Wade said this I wonder if he meant some cultivars don't show symptoms or do
some plants within a certain cultivar not show symptoms?

If you continue to remove all your hostas that show
nematodes you will end up with no hostas though.
