Hi, Josh. I was not sure by your letter if the plant you are seeking will
be planted in the pond or in 'dry' soil. Either way, you might want to try
Typha latifolia variegata. It is not as large as ordinary Typha, but
spreads to form enough of a clump to camouflage a wall, is about 3 - 3.5'
tall, and is just beautiful - green and white striped foliage and
sable-brown cattails. Grows quickly, too. It can be grown in 0 - 6"
standing water (0" would mean to keep the soil moist).
I do not know of anyone who sells it except for Japonica Water Gardens.
