To give a Deep South perspective on two plants recently discussed
here:
Omphalodes cappadocica 'Starry Eyes' has grown very well here in
light shade, and even survived the past two months of 100° heat and
no rain. (Irrigation every three days of so.) It slowly has spread
from the tiny little plant that White Flower sent me to a neat clump
about 10 inches across, in 1 1/2 years.
The Lysimachia ciliata purpurea I have growing in a sunny area
(about 6 hours direct) and it is indeed invasive. The foliage would
be pretty were it not for insect damage. The yellow flowers are
insignificant. It spreads underground and is difficult to contain.
I will probably remove it this year if I can.
