Marta,

If I remember right you are in LA....right????? No real
bad freezes for you....like down to zero.....You should
be able to plant them anywhere you want.....I got them
from my gt. grandmother's and she lived between Austin
and Houston so you are about the same zone.....

Just throw them out where ever you want them....keep them
moist and they will dig themselves in the ground all by
themselves.  They do get large......each one when
mature will more than fill a foot square with their leaves.
Will reach 3-4 feet high.....just give them room and water.
