[SG] Big Bees

Hi All,

Has anyone had experience with what looks like a giant (inch and a half
or more long) 'bee' that looks sort of like a yellow jacket, but digs a
tunnel in the soil?

This creature was digging a tunnel by pushing the soil backwards with its
legs...very curious behavior for a bee.

Anyone know what this is?
