That's a very interesting story! You're to be commended for not running for the
"Raid" when you first discovered them.
I would suggest you call your local County Extension Agent tomorrow. Each county
is supposed by law to have a registered BeeKeeper/Inspector. They should be able
to come in and "smoke" the bee's, which only quiets them down, and then they can
tell what you're dealing with under the plastic, and hopefully will also be able
to either remove the bees to a hive if indeed they are
"honey" bees, or properly remove them if they turn out to be some other kind
{Bumblebee etc} of bee.
