Hi Claire,
In my labor intensive garden I look for all the short cuts that will work for
me. I've tried not cutting back spent blooms and stems on Nepeta, and also
several Salvias, the results being less second bloom, and fresh bloom
intermingled with the dead. Took me three or four times longer to clean
them up at that stage then it would have to just cut them down when they
finished blooming.
