Patsy,
You are, no doubt, correct on the esthetic look of the plants. I wanted to
know if plants, lilies for instance, are affected in any way if they are not
deadheaded.
I am in zone 4 and nepeta and salvia will regrow but seldom rebloom so I have
not hurried to get them sheared.
I am interested in the flowering and formation of seed one year affecting the
bloom the next year. There are many true lilies blooming here and sometimes
I miss clipping the spent blooms. It does ot seem to affect the next year's
flowers.
Patsy, I think you and I are the only shadegardeners on the net this weekend.
Since no-one else is around I can say salvia transylvanica is a big surprise
in the blue flower group and hardy in zone 4.
