Re: [SG] Hardy Gladiolus

Several varieties of hardy gladiolus have wintered over in my garden for
the last several years (Z7a). They also increase very rapidly. Here and
there around town I see huge clumps of the larger varieties that people
have obviously left down for years.

My only objection to glads as garden flowers is how shabby they look when
the lower half of the spike fades. But I guess we could cut them off at
that point and use them indoors!

Maybe some creative hybridizer could work on a series of "garden gladiolus"
that would be hardy and suitable for use in borders. Or maybe such already
exist, and I'm ignorant of them....
