Hello; I have a Colocasia antiquorum planted in partial shade. It gets sun
right at the zenith, and is in moderate shade the rest of the day. Each
time a new leaf sprouts, it starts out velvety black, with pale green
veins, but eventually it develops bright green areas. One leaf has a green
'ear', another is green on the right half (beginning exactly at the central
vein), another has green 'beams' radiating from a central point on the
leaf. Is this the normal coloration for the plant? If not, what could be
causing the color change?
