I dont have the answer to this question, but I have a Cunningham's Blush
rhododendron which has buds, and looks as if it will bloom again soon.
It bloomed in early May, when my other rhodies were blooming. Is this
usual?

A local native plant expert did say once that some plants are brought
into bloom by equinoctial (is that a word?) conditions: when night and
day are approaching equal lengths. He mentioned dogwood, as an
example. He said plants dont do this every year, but do in some years.
Maybe that is what the magnolia is doing?
