101Caryoptris 'Longwood Blue' isthe famed blue hedge at Longwood Gardens.
That is closer to you in latitude than I am. That hedge is in full sun and
attains more height than our plants do. I think all of the catalog pix for
years were that of Longwood Gardens.
I thought it was not hardy here and put it into a cold frame every winter
until I tired of the chore. Then I saw it in a neighbor's garden doing well
in a jumble of perennials. I did try cuttings one spring and ended with
dozens of little plants to give away.
