Debby: Having more perennials than lawn is what I want; I'm glad you have
accomplished it. For me, the ideal back "yard" would be grass paths among
the perennial gardens. Now if I could just talk my wife into this!
What we have now are perennial borders around the lawn, which is growing
better than expected in this heat and humidity. It's too hot to mow, and the
grass gets taller.
We don't need rain here. The area has had storms dumping from 2 to 12 inches
of rain in one to 2 hours. The area now is experiencing its fourth flood
since April. Despite the rain, the heat dries the gardens quickly, requiring
watering by hose. Go figure!
We don't need rain dances. Anyone do cool wind dances?
