Re: Anyone collect heucheras?

Hello all,
I love heucheras, too, and have several. I have 'Velvet Night' and
'Persian Carpet' planted near Japanese Painted Fern and 'Miss Muffet'
caladiums with a begonia grandis nearby. I also have 'Mint Frost',
'Pewter Veil' and 'Silver Shadows' planted together near a pot of oxalis
triangularis and another caladium. In another bed I have 'Plum Puddin',
'Mint Julep'(wonder if this one is misnamed), and another reddish one
which I can't remember the name. I do love 'Chocolate Ruffles' which is
alone in a planting pocket by my backdoor with acanthus hungaricus (which
has had its first bloom since I planted it 3 years ago--pretty rose
color). I have found that they grow and transplant very well and here in
NC, Zone 7b, they live through the winter. Occassionally I have to
remove ragged leaves from the bottom. I give mine some extra compost in
the fall and spring.

Lynn
