Re: Nikko not blue


I find it takes a couple of years for a hydrangea to get its juices
sorted out to make blue.  I have taken cuttings from a plant that has
been pure blue for twenty years, and planted them in the same soil.
For the first couple of years they have bloomed pure pink.  I haven't
paid attention to exactly how long it takes them to switch, but I
don't recall them going through an in-between stage, you know, that
mucky not-blue/not-red colour that you see in a lot of gardens.
